Dear blogger,
worst day of my life...ill explain tomorrow.

Saturday, July 30, 2011

Just another day, or so I thought.

Hello blogger :]
Well I was awakened this morning by my puppies (as usual) but there was something different today.
I walked out to my front yard, where my mother lets them out in the mornings,  only to find out that they were all sick, including one of out adult females.
Complete HORROR. I've done nothing today but clean up vomit and shit. One puppy in particular has been at a constant vomit spree. I hope this all gets better by tomorrow...I have a photoshoot to help with!
Speaking of, I'm very excited to help out my sister (photographer) with this shoot. There will be three models whose wardrobe will resemble THE MILLIONAIRES. If you dont know who the millionaires are here they are....

They have that trashy pop essence which takes a special kinda gal to pull off, they play the complete party girl part. The clothes, hair, makeup, and attitude. Hope fully these models will pull it off.
WISH US LUCK <3

so you want to be and actor?

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!
The movie industry is one of the most desired field of interest in the world. Who wouldn't want to be featured in the next big flick? Well, as you may have noticed, the business is a very tricky career to get into. Many have no idea how to pursue the acting biz. Others, lose thousands of dollars to scam artists who claim to make their clients stars or to acting school like John Casablanca or John Robert Powers. Although these schools teach valuable skills, they are not worth the amount of money you spend there. What is the point of me writing this you ask?  it's to tell you the best way to enter the acting business...at no cost!
Things you will need:
  1. head shots
  2. resume
  3. an awesome attitude

Head shots:
  • Your photos must be 8"x10" , they are more professional.
  • Always include the name of the photographer (write the name in the lower white margin if no watermark is represented)
  • Capture shots that are outdoors (park, beach, etc.), They appear more natural. Studio shots work too!
Resume:
  • When creating your resume, you want to include as much information in the fewest words possible.
  • include personal information at the very top of your resume (Name, age, hair color, eye color, height and weight, and phone number)
  • include any and all experience, and training involved with performing arts (acting, singing, dancing, etc)
  • include special skills such as karate, volleyball, singing (always add your section{soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass})
  • make sure everything is neat, organized, and only takes up one page.
Now we get into the juicy stuff....finding the Agent:
  • when submitting to agents you must send in your head shots, resumes, and a cover letter.
* Cover letters are meant to be short, sweet, and polite. Let the agent or casting director know you are seeking representation and if they could take a moment to look over your information. always end it with a thank you.
  • NEVER NEVER NEVER pay an agent up front, or before they book a job for you!
  • another thing you never want to do is deliver your hs/resume. to agencies. They should always be mailed into their office.
"How do I get names  of casting directors?"
Well retrieving the names is actually the easiest part! As long as you do your homework. While watching movies or television shows you see their name pop right up on the screen! (Magical right?) Just keep your eye out for CASTING DIRECTOR(S). Their name will end with C.S.A. 99.9% of the time.
"How do I get their information?"
Another easy procedure! Just simple google their name! Their office address (and sometimes their office phone number and e-mail) comes up!
"How do I know if they've seen my information?"
This is not always possible, BUT as previously stated sometimes while searching the casting director their office number and e-mail will appear if this is true, you're in luck! simply call or write to them no sooner than 3 weeks after submitting and say something along the lines of "Hello______. I was calling regarding my resume I sent in and was wondering if you have had time to look over it." This shows them that you are dedicated (and persistent!)
I hope this information has helped! just e-mail me if you have any questions :]
